IS THIS THE BEST WANTAN MEE IN PJ? Chan SinKee Noodle @ Kota Damansara

Image
Hey! I am finally back with another food review. Had not tried anything that was interesting enough for me to do a full blog on it. Anyway, my mum and I were searching for places to eat and we specifically wanted noodles. The initial plan was to have Chilli Pan Mee because who would say no to that right?! As we were walking there, this shop next door called Chan SinKee Noodle which   was pretty crowded at that moment, caught our attention so we decided to give it a try. Well, I think it's safe to say that this is now my favourite noodle place. No fancy decorations, just a humble set up. Not sure about you but I personally think that places that are less fancy always serves the best food. Well, most of the time.  There are 3 sizes of noodles to choose from. We didn't know how small is the small how big is the big portion so we just went for the smallest one which we were really glad we did because the portion is quite big for a small. They have a variety of wan tan noo

Full Face of Canmake + First Impressions! (click here to watch the video) Marshmallow Finish Base (Oil Block) This is now my go-to base for whenever I do my makeup. What I love about it is that it is very light weight and gives me a very air brushed-looking skin. As you can see, it does reduced redness and lightly concealed my spots. I noticed that when I first applied it, it doesn't look smooth and it looked a little cake-y. But after letting it set for about 6-7 minutes, skin looks smoother and has an air brushed finish. So I would normally let it set first before setting it with powder. My makeup did remained matte even after I went out and about for half a day without any touch ups. It really does absorbs oil sebum. Cover & Stretch Concelear UV ( Waterproof) I personally don't think the concealer works that well on spots. It does not have enough coverage. In the second picture, you can see that the concealer did brightened my under ey

Go Street Noodle @ Sri Petaling

Go Noodle House has always been my go-to place whenever I'm in the mood for a warm bowl of noodles, especially on rainy days. I recently got to know that they have a sister company called Go Street Noodle and of course, I was really eager to find out what differences do they have and which of this two company is better.   I went to the outlet in Sri Petaling which has just opened recently. I was there just before 12pm and it was already quite pack. Everything from the vibes and interiors in GSN are almost similar, if not, just like GNH. Items on the menu are quite different but there are still a few familiar dishes. What differs GSN from GNH, selection wise is that they serve rice and dry noodles here and has a variety of side dishes to go with the dry noodles.  (@fixingcravings is my own account) Tok Tok Mee (Thick) with Bursting Meat Ball [RM11.90] in Superior Soup I always have the Bursting Meatball whenever I dine at GNH so I had to order this and compare! Dotty's Pastries & Coffee @ KLCC

Image
Known for their salted egg yolk cronuts, Dotty's has recently opened a new outlet in KLCC. They have two outlets in Bangsar and one in TTDI, which is the one that I always go to. Seeing that I was really in a sweet tooth mood, I dropped by their new outlet recently and also tried a few dishes that I've not tried before. Interiors are similar to the other outlets.   We ordered their Eggs Benedict with Soft Shell Crab (RM28). Compared to few other cafes that I've been to with similar price range, their egg-ben is relatively smaller. Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed with the presentation and it's definitely the least appealing egg ben dish I've had. Hollandaise sauce was barely enough which made the whole dish really drying as you can see.    We were there around 11am and was told that the pastries will only be ready by 12pm. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind waiting but honestly, the preparation speed is just really slow. I

Hits & Misses at Malaysia Boleh! @ Four Seasons Place KL

Image
I've been to the Malaysia Boleh! food court in Singapore years ago but all that I can remember is that it was quite a hectic dinner, as you would expect from a food court. The rest of the memories are now hazy in the mind.   If you have not heard of or been to Malaysia Boleh! , it is a food court that houses more than 14 stalls of popular local delicacies from different states. There's Penang Laksa, Pudu Fried Chicken, Klang Bak Kut Teh and the list goes on. This is definitely the perfect food spot for both local and tourists as you can try some of Malaysia's famous delicacies all in one space!                                          The Penang Laksa (RM10) was one of the better ones that I've had. The sourness and thickness of the broth was just how I like my laksa to be. This dish just hits all the right spots.   I'm not a fan of Hokkien mee but the KL Hokkien Mee (RM12) was good. It really was full with "wok hei" which I think is the

Dancing Fish @ Bangsar Shopping Center

We had relatives from overseas that came to visit and of course, we had to bring them to a place that serves good local food that we can proudly present to them. The first place that came to my dad's mind was Dancing Fish that is no stranger to any gastronome. They serve contemporary Malay-Indo cuisine had been around for 7 years now and is still holding their place strongly, in the F&B industry. I've just found out that Dancing Fish had recently revamped 40% of their menu. We started off with the Emping with Sambal Terasi (RM7.45) . The crackers here at Dancing Fish are made from 100% melinjo nuts and has a nutty and bitter taste. Oh, the sambal really does packs a punch!   What's a trip to Dancing Fish if you don't order their signature dish?   We had the Dancing Fish (Nila Goreng) with Asam Kedondong Pedas (RM58.75). The whole fish is deepfried till crispy that you can even the eat the bones too. Definitely the most picture worthy looking fish
