As most of you know, I am plant-based 95% of the time. So when I was thinking what should I focus on in my second episode of Eat What Leh? series on Youtube in Penang, I thought it would be really cool to have a full day of eating as a vegan in Penang.  Finding vegetarian or vegan food in Malaysia is not a big of a problem because us Chinese and Indian are mostly vegetarians. There are many vegetarian economic rice shops that can be found in the streets of Penang and it is also most people's preferred choice as it is really cheap.   Known for their salted egg yolk cronuts, Dotty's has recently opened a new outlet in KLCC. They have two outlets in Bangsar and one in TTDI, which is the one that I always go to. Seeing that I was really in a sweet tooth mood, I dropped by their new outlet recently and also tried a few dishes that I've not tried before. Interiors are similar to the other outlets.   We ordered their Eggs Benedict with Soft Shell Crab (RM28). Compared to few other cafes that I've been to with similar price range, their egg-ben is relatively smaller. Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed with the presentation and it's definitely the least appealing egg ben dish I've had. Hollandaise sauce was barely enough which made the whole dish really drying as you can see.    We were there around 11am and was told that the pastries will only be ready by 12pm. Everything from the interior, ambience, and most importantly the food always makes me want to return again!   Birch Benedict [RM26] that consists of spicy pulled chicken, barbecue sauce, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on toasted sourdough with salad on the side. Besides serving some of the best breakfast food, they do take pride in their dinner dishes too that my friends and I decided to dine there for our reunion dinner. We sat at the non-smoking area (right) which does get really dark after the sun sets. Picture taking is definitely not ideal so you might want to come earlier if you want to have your pictures taken or to get some flat lay shots. EAT WHAT LEH?   I've recently started becoming a vegetarian (literally 6 days ago) and no, it's not because of religious reasons. I'm not sure how long will I be vegetarian for but I would definitely try to stick to it as long as I can. Becoming a vegetarian is not a problem for me because I personally don't really fancy meats. The only problem is when it comes to eating outside. I had been on the internet so much recently, searching for vegetarian restaurants near me and I managed to come across few blogposts that really did helped a lot! This is also one of the reason why I am starting a blog. To help people to search for places to eat! So if you found this post, Ola!
